Who can buy SmartMetals products?

SmartMetals has a network of distributors in Europe to whom she sells the products. SmartMetals does not sell directly to end-users.

How to find a product on the SmartMetals website?

There are four ways to search for products  

1. Via the SmartSelector
2. Via the homepage / assortment page
2. Via the pull down menu under "Products" on the navigation bar
3. Via the search field

The SmartSelector 
In January 2012, SmartMetals implemented the SmartSelector, which allows you to find a solution in just 3 steps. You will find the SmartSelector in the main menu.

How the SmartSelector works 
Step 1: Choose between floor-, wall- or ceiling solutions by clicking on one of the three icons.
Step 2: In this step you indicate whether you are looking for a solution for a projector or flat screen by clicking on one of the two icons. 
Step 3: An overview of products will be loaded which fall under the categories indicated in step 1 and 2. In the left menu you have the option to further specify or adjust your search by ticking or ticking off the grey dots. When you have found the solution of your choice you can download pictures, installation instructions and a product leaflet by clicking on “more information”.  You will also find all accessories which can be combined with the selected product. In addition, you can request a quote for this and more products by placing the products in the quote basket. You can do this by clicking the link “add to quote basket”. Your quote basket can be sent to the SmartMetals Team afterwards for a price offer.

The homepage / assortment page
This page provides an overview of the SmartMetals product range grouped in categories. When you click on one of the categories, a list of the products and accessories in this category will be shown. The link “more information” allows, the technical specifications, pictures, manual, product leaflet and associated accessories to be found.

The search field
At the top of the webpage SmartMetals has integrated a search function where you can look up products by typing the article code. An article code looks as follows: 062.7200. By clicking on the product link, the product page will be loaded where images, product leaflet and a manual can be downloaded. The accessories which can be added to this product are displayed as well. 

How will I find the best solution for my application?

Since safety is of most importance to SmartMetals, we strongly advise a location is inspected to be able to select the right products in combination with the right mounting material to do the installation. Bear in mind that any mounting surface, whether it is a wall, floor or ceiling should be a strong and solid surface. All installations should be carried out by qualified personnel and according to present regulations.

SmartMetals offers a complete range of fixed and mobile mounting solutions, motorized or manually in height adjustable, for projectors, flat screens, whiteboards and cameras. To find the right solution fast and easy SmartMetals developed the SmartSelector. In three simple steps the SmartSelector will show you the best suitable products for your application. Besides that SmartMetals offers product leaflets for each solution which can be downloaded from form each product page. This leaflet contains all technical specifications and a technical drawing for every product.

What are the delivery times and warranty conditions?

Besides her office in Culemborg, SmartMetals has a large warehouse, due to which many products can be provided or assembled from stock. When products you ordered are out of stock, we generally deliver within 4-5 weeks after order. Delivery times for custom solutions / specials are explained on the page Development process Specials.

SmartMetals offers for all products a warranty of 5 years after delivery.

What if a product or part becomes defective?

• If, within the warranty period, the product becomes defective through no fault of your own, you may be entitled to a replacement part, a repair, or a new product in case a repair is not possible (to be determined by SmartMetals only).

• Since our warranty is a Carry-In-Warranty you ought to send us the defect product/part for repair. In case we send you a replacement part to do the repair yourself, both part and shipping costs will be charged at first. Please send us the defect part for examination purposes; if the defect appears to be a defect under warranty the replacement part as well as the shipping costs to send this part will be credited. If the defect is determined to have been caused by a fault of your own the costs for the replacement part and the shipping costs remain for your expense.

• Freight costs for the return to SmartMetals are borne by you at any time, freight cost back to your address only in case the defect is not covered by our warranty.

What do I do in case a product is Dead On Arrival?

DOA definition:

DOA is defined as Dead on Arrival. If a SmartMetals product shows symptoms of a hardware failure, preventing basic operation upon its first use out of the box, then it may be deemed DOA.

Reporting; Resolution:

If you believe your product is a DOA, please call our Sales Team (+31 (0)88 70 60 100) within 5 business days of your receipt of the product. We will determine whether the product is DOA and upon such determination offer you replacement options and take action to get the product back to our warehouse.

Other Terms and Conditions:

  • If the DOA is reported more than 5 business days after receipt or 45 days from the date we shipped the product, whichever is earlier, SmartMetals standard product warranty shall apply.
  • If the product is deemed by us NOT to be DOA, SmartMetals standard product warranty will apply.
  • Shipping will be arranged at SmartMetals expense for all products determined by SmartMetals to be DOA. SmartMetals reserves the right to test the returned DOA product. You must provide a proof of purchase and pack the product in its original packaging upon which we will arrange pick-up.
How can I return something?

You may have placed an incorrect order, we may have delivered something incorrectly or you may want to return a demo to us; if you would like to return something to us, please ask us for a RMA form. Contact the SmartMetals team at +31 (0) 88 70 60 100 or via

Products will be credited* upon return provided that the product is in mint condition and in its original packaging. If not, SmartMetals reserves the right to charge the costs necessary to bring the product back in perfect condition or deduct them from the credit note. Any restocking costs will also be deducted from the credit invoice.

* In case of incorrect delivery, we will credit you including shipping costs, in case of incorrect order excluding shipping costs

What if an order is damaged upon delivery?

Please check any delivery upon entry for any damage and whether the delivered numbers match your order or our confirmation. Do you notice any damage then please act as follows:

In case of transport damage
Always note transport damages on the CMR form / the consignment note so that we can inform the forwarder. Please notify us about the damage within 24 hours after delivery in writing via, provided with photos (preferably delivery photos in packaging, without packaging and of damages in close-up).

In case of defects other than transport damage
Please report visible defects, other than transport damage, in writing within 7 days after delivery via, preferably with photos.

Follow-up actions for a new delivery and the return of the damaged goods will be determined on a case by case basis and will be discussed with you.
