Our children are our future. Unfortunately, not all children have an equally good future expectation, because they too can be confronted with the diagnosis of "cancer". SmartMetals is impressed by the good work done at the Princess Máxima Center to help children with cancer. For this reason, she has decided to reduce the size of her end-of-year gifts to her customers to a smaller gift and to donate the amount saved to the Princess Máxima Center.

Gerdi Vogels and Vincent Rekveldt recently presented a nice cheque on behalf of SmartMetals. Our customers were of course informed of the smaller appreciation and, as expected, responded positively to this initiative.

Princess Máxima Center

The Princess Máxima Center was opened by our Queen in June 2018. Since then, all children with cancer from all over the Netherlands are being treated in Máxima. In the Netherlands, about 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and currently 1 in 4 children still die from this disease.

The Princess Máxima Center has one ambition: to cure every child with cancer, with optimum quality of life. To realize this mission, all knowledge and expertise in the field of pediatric oncology care and research have been brought together in Máxima. That makes the difference. It is a huge step forward so that every child with cancer receives the best tailor-made treatment and more importantly: a greater chance of survival.

Princess Máxima Center Foundation

The Foundation of the Princess Máxima Center was established with the aim of raising funds to enable all facilities that are not reimbursed by health insurers and that are of great importance for the healing of the children. And there are many of them, such as sports, education, theater, music, meeting each other, customized nutrition, research, anxiety & pain reduction, artistic activities and counseling & research after curing. Not only for our children, but also for the entire family.
